friday is here at last. another week has come and gone and what do i have to show for it? really. i'm asking that question. it's tough being a momma and not really having tangible results each week. but a recent reading of this verse has affirmed my job.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21
i had never thought of that verse in terms of motherhood before. wow. this work - the time consuming, mundane, every day work with my little ones is eternal. there is a life after this world and i want them to have an eternity with Jesus. i would say that is a treasure in Heaven, would you??
cleaning out the "campaign" office. {i.e. a bedroom in our house!!} much better.
last friday was a rough one for me with the littles. like, temper tantrums i had never seen from a four-year-old. couple that with trying to get things accomplished around the house, it made for a chaotic and wearing day. thankful for a sweet friend who brought this by on her way to the pool!
hopping on board the netflix train with downton abbey. love.
saturday night we grilled out. despite my "non diet" craze, we made this recipe. {i don't think you can get more opposite of "whole" food than marshmallow fluff by the way.} it was yum.
dreaming of vacation. not much longer!!!! we need one!
the book that i'm reading. incredibly challenging. convicting. encouraging.
read it.
like i mentioned, we've been having a theme of independence lately among my children. and one thing is t.v. i have nothing against t.v. in fact, i probably watch it too much myself. i love it. especially in the fall when the new shows come on. ahhhh... falll...... but i digress.
this week we've pretty much cut out ALL t.v. for the littles. punishment for myself too, i guess. either way, we've been doing good. this bucket of legos has helped. especially since we only get them out when c. is asleep. it makes them special and he could play with them for HOURS!
campaign stuff.
the recipe on the list is from my FAVORITE taco place in dallas. yum yum. i can't wait to try these at the beach!
a go to new dinner for me when the hubbs isn't home. i'll share my fixins sooon.
if you know b. you've probably seen him with a large apple in his hands. c. wasn't too far behind him. i've tried cutting up slices for her but she wants the whole thing just like b. it's kinda genius actually because it keeps her busy for a long time {way longer than it now keeps b.} and it's nutritious! win win!
a new baby lens for me. i didn't know how i'd like the "prime" but it's actually ridiculously awesome. i'll share some pictures from it soon. i'm still getting the hang of all of my settings but it's super easy to take a picture inside with NO flash it turns out great!
some girl time with my little girl. keys, purse, water and pretties. on our way to target. love her.
The pool picture looks like so much fun! Love your daughter's cute little face in the last one.
ReplyDeleteI love how she's accessorized and all ready to go in that last pic. So cute!
