last week was weird. out of town & back in town & birthday parties & school. just out of sorts. not normal for us for sure.
this week, we are trying to get settled. settled into a new routine & a new "normal" as i like to say.
we are doing well, thanks in large part to YOUR prayers. you all have been tremendously kind & encouraging to us during this time. we cannot express to you how much we appreciate your understanding & support! i feel like a large flake, but sometimes you just have to become a bit introverted to savor family time together.
when i came home last week from austin, without my hubby, it felt all kinds of strange.
he's travelled for work before. not a whole lot, but it's not at all like he hasn't been gone before. we've been married for almost 8 years and we dated for 7 before that. he's my best friend.
and i miss him.
but....
even with this incredibly strange feeling that comes with him being away a bit this year, there is a peace that has settled deep within my soul. a peace that could only come from one place.
our Lord Jesus.
i am so thankful for those of you who have prayed peace over us this past year. please continue to do so. we know that we're in the right place at the right moment for right now. we are grateful to be here. humbled, in fact.
"the steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock." {isaiah 26:2}
if you've been around here for a while, you know that one of the things i know helped me through this last year is worship music. i have a dear friend who leads worship in her church in georgia and she has been a blessing to me this past year, sending me new worship songs to fill my heart & mind with throughout the day.
a song that i discovered the morning i was leaving for austin is below. it's called "for the sake of the world". this song is my anthem for this year. giving up control. surrendering all. for the sake of the world. for every knee to bow. for every heart to believe. Lord, light a fire in me.
have a happy tuesday, sweet friends. may you be blessed & encouraged today.
love the sweet peace that Jesus gives us! :-)
